We cannot live without food. We have three main meals a day both in New Zealand (NZ) and in Japan. Both country they use dishes, either of them eat cereals, meats and vegetables, neither of them sit on the ground when we have a meal. While we have several features in common, we can also find many differences.

Beyond dispute, NZ’s food is similar to British which is well known as the worst food in the world. This is why there are no British restaurants in the world. People know that cooking British food is like speaking a dead language. NZ’s food has influenced China and Korea but we have been developing it to more sophisticated dishes and also have been keeping our traditional so. Anyway, the biggest distinction is the balance of food that is, the quality, the price and the quantity.

The quality contains food variety. Are you happy if you have to eat same thing in every meal? In NZ, people eat the same thing at breakfast and at lunch. Toast or cereal with milk for breakfast. Sandwiches or instant noodles for lunch. People in Japan have many kinds of food, although depending on family. We eat pork, beef, duck, horse, chicken, and whale in the past. We eat sea-bream, rockfish, angler, brevoort, caplin, cod, halibut, turbot, cuttlefish, octopus, conger eel, eel, shell and shelfish. We have many recipes for cooking them. NZ’s dishes are saltier than Japanese. I want to ask to a Kiwi, “Do not you think that you can cook just frying or frizzling materials with salt and sugar?”
