Muscle of the hand
The intrinsic muscles of the hand are the adductor pollicis, interossei, thenar, hypothenar, palmaris brevis, and lumbrical muscles.
Adductor pollicis is a large triangular muscle anterior to the plane of the interossei that crosses the palm (Fig). It originates as two heads:
a transverse head from the anterior aspect of the shaft of metacarpal III;
