Should“Visa Overstayers” be allowed?
These days, there are huge numbers of “Visa Overstayers” who are working in Japan. Those foreign people came to Japan as legal tourists, but after they had came in this country so easily, they started to work and then became illegal. They actually came to this country just to work from the first, not as sightseeing. What do we need to do about this problem? Should we allow them to come to Japan and work illegally? People should be against granting a residential permit to visa overstayers. I will mention three main reasons why we should not allow them.
Firstly, we need to think about the public safety of this country. There are many crimes committed by foreign people in Japan. If we accept many foreign people from all over the world, the number of crimes in Japan might increase. Japan is thought as a safe county in the world, so we must keep this state clearly.
Secondly, the law has never allowed them to work in this country, so we should not accept them to be workers in Japan. There is a law in this country that does not allow people who came as tourists to work. Even if they say they have lived many years in Japan that does never mean you are allowed to live and work in this country.
Thirdly, there might be a concern for labor market. Our country has a serious problem about the unemployment rate. People are finding their jobs, but they can not find it so easily. The increase of the foreign workers might make the Japanese harder to find a job.
